Separating Audio and Video for MP4 Videos in Camtasia

< 1 min read

When adding an MP4 video to your project in Camtasia, the audio and video are initially combined in a single track. Here’s how to separate them for editing:

Importing the MP4 Video: #

To import an MP4 file, go to Import > Media, and select the MP4 video you want to add. It will appear in your Media Bin.

Adding the Video to the Timeline: #

Drag the video from the Media Bin to the timeline. Initially, the audio and video will be on the same track.

Separating the Audio and Video: #

To split the audio and video, right-click on the track and select Separate Audio and Video. This will create two separate tracks: one for the audio and one for the video.

Editing Your Video: #

Once separated, you can edit the audio and video independently on their respective tracks.

This process allows you to have full control over the audio and video portions of your MP4 files for more precise editing.
