Organizing your Camtasia project files effectively helps streamline your workflow. Here’s how to manage your project files:
Importing and Saving Your Recording: #
After importing a Camtasia recording into the editing screen, or recording your screen directly, you can save it as a new project file. To save your project, go to File > Save As, and choose a location on your computer to store the project file. Once saved, Camtasia will confirm that the project has been successfully saved.
Accessing and Working with Your Project: #
Whenever you reopen the Camtasia project, the software will remember the location of the associated recording files. If you close the project and open a new one, Camtasia will revert to an untitled project for you to start fresh.
Moving Your Recording File: #
If you move the recording file to a different directory, and then reopen the Camtasia project, you’ll notice that the recording file stays linked to the project. This improvement makes it easier to keep everything in sync. In previous versions, if the recording file was moved, you would have to manually find and re-add it to the project. Now, Camtasia will automatically link the recording file with the project when opened from the file manager.
Viewing the Project and Recording Files Together: #
When you open a project file, Camtasia will display both the project file and the associated recording files in the project area.
By organizing your project files and saving them properly, you ensure a smoother editing process and avoid issues with misplaced or unlinked files.
