Recording a Webinar with Camtasia

1 min read

You can easily record a webinar that’s playing on your computer screen using Camtasia. Here’s how:

Starting the Camtasia Recorder: #

Open Camtasia and click the Record button, or launch the Camtasia Recorder from your menu.

Once the recorder is active, click the Capture link to begin setup.

Setting Up System Audio: #

Ensure that System Audio is turned on to capture the audio from the webinar. You’ll know it’s active when the panel in the recorder is highlighted.

Recording the Webinar Video: #

Make sure your screen is selected to track the webinar.

If you’re recording a full-screen webinar, press F11 to expand the video. Toggle back to the browser screen by pressing F11 again.

This method works for browsers like Edge as well. In Edge, you can navigate the address bar without minimizing the browser by moving your cursor to the top.

Recording with Permissions: #

Before recording, ensure that you have the proper permission or rights to record the webinar content. Do not record without explicit consent from the webinar creator.

Capturing the Webinar: #

Start the video and click Record in Camtasia to begin capturing both the audio and video portions of the webinar.

After recording, you’ll have separate tracks for the visual and audio portions of the webinar, as well as any audio from your own voice if you spoke during the recording.

Now you’re ready to record and edit your webinar content!
