Once your recording is in the Camtasia editor, you can start editing and then export it as an audio file, such as an MP3. Here’s how to do it:
Adding the Recording to the Timeline: #
First, drag your recording file onto the timeline to begin the editing process. This is where you’ll trim, adjust, and create your final video or audio output.
Exporting as Audio: #
After editing, you can choose to export your project as an audio file. In Camtasia, this is done through the Export menu. Here, you can either export as a local file or use Custom Production for more options.
Selecting Audio-Only Export: #
When using Custom Production, you’ll typically see an option to create an M4A file, which was the standard in earlier versions of Camtasia (like Camtasia 9). However, in more recent versions, you can export directly as an MP3 file. To do this:
- Select Export Audio-Only.
- In the dropdown menu, choose MP3 (or WAV if you prefer).
- Click Save, and Camtasia will create the MP3 file for you.
Batch Production: #
If you want to export multiple MP3 files at once, Camtasia supports batch production, which will be covered in a future video.
This method makes it simple to convert your video or recording into a high-quality MP3 file for audio projects.
