Voice narration allows you to add or replace audio in a video. Here’s how to do it:
Deleting Existing Audio: #
If you’re not happy with the current audio, you can remove it from the video. Before doing that, make sure to save the project as a new file. This ensures you don’t lose your original audio.
Go to File > Save As and rename the file. Camtasia will confirm that the project is saved.
Recording New Voice Narration: #
To start recording new audio, go to the Voice Narration area in Camtasia.
Select your microphone from the options available, and if you have a script, you can copy and paste it into the provided space.
Click Start Recording, and as the video plays, narrate what’s happening. This will record your voice while the video plays on the timeline.
Muting Background Sounds: #
If there’s unwanted sound on the timeline, you can mute it during the recording. Simply click the Mute button to turn off the existing audio while you narrate.
Saving the Audio: #
Once you finish recording, stop the process. The narration will automatically be placed on the timeline as a new audio track.
The narration is saved as an MP4 audio file, and you can now edit the video with the new audio.
Editing the Audio: #
If you need to adjust your narration or remove sections, you can easily do so by editing the audio on the timeline. For example, if someone made a mistake in the video, you can re-record the audio for that section using Voice Narration and replace it.
Voice narration gives you the flexibility to re-record or add new audio to your video while it’s playing, making it ideal for tutorials or correcting mistakes during editing.
