Understanding the basic timeline functions is essential for effective editing. Here’s an overview of key timeline operations:

Zooming In and Out: #

The time increments at the top of the timeline show the video’s duration. To zoom in or out, click the minus button to shrink the view or the plus button to expand it. The time increments will adjust accordingly.

Navigating the Timeline: #

To move through the timeline, click and drag the cursor, or use the Ctrl+Home shortcut to jump to the beginning of the video, and Ctrl+End to jump to the end. Alternatively, you can click anywhere on the timeline to move the cursor manually.

Playing and Pausing the Video: #

Click the Play button to watch the video in real-time. As the video plays, the cursor will move along the timeline, showing you the exact point in the video. You can also use the Spacebar to start and stop playback. Pressing it once will start the video, and pressing it again will stop it.

These basic operations will help you navigate your project efficiently and make the editing process smoother.
