1 min read

To record a PowerPoint presentation using the Camtasia PowerPoint add-in, follow these steps:

Prepare Your Script and Settings: #

Ensure you have your PowerPoint script ready and your add-in settings adjusted.

Starting and Pausing the Recording: #

Press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to start and pause the recording. The first slide will appear, and the recording will begin. In the bottom right corner, you’ll see a Preview button. Press Ctrl+Shift+F9 again to start or pause the recording.

Navigating Through Slides: #

Use the down arrow key to move to the next slide or point. If you have animations enabled, the next animated element will appear as you press the arrow. Continue narrating your PowerPoint presentation while using the arrow keys to advance through the slides.

Stopping the Recording: #

When you’ve finished, press Ctrl+Shift+F10 to stop the recording, or hit the Escape key. A prompt will appear asking whether to stop or continue recording. Select Stop the recording.

Saving and Editing Your Recording: #

You’ll be prompted to save your recording to a specified directory. Choose the location and save your file. After saving, you’ll be given two options: either Produce the recording directly, or Move the file to the editing screen for further adjustments. For editing, click Edit and then OK.

The Camtasia editing area will open with your recording ready for editing. Once you’ve completed the recording process, your PowerPoint presentation is ready to be edited into a final video.
