Once you open Camtasia, you can start a new project and access the editing and recording dialog. Here’s what to expect when beginning a project in Camtasia.
Starting a New Project: #
Step 1: Open Camtasia
Click the New Project button to launch the full editing dialog.
Step 2: Sign In
For first-time users, sign in to start the trial or enter your software key if you’ve purchased the software.
Note: No credit card is needed to start the trial.
Step 3: Trial Watermark
Be aware that videos produced with the trial version will be watermarked until the software is purchased. Videos created after the purchase will not include a watermark.
Accessing the Editing and Processing Screen: #
After signing in, you’ll be inside the main editing and processing screen.
Recording Videos: #
Step 1: Record Button
Click the Record button in the main dialog to start a new screen recording.
Step 2: Camtasia Recorder Tool
Alternatively, you can use the standalone Camtasia Recorder tool. Search for “Camtasia Recorder” on your computer if it’s not already open. The recorder is associated with the version of Camtasia you installed and can be launched even while the main editing screen is active.
