Content ID and Copyright Claim Support

A Content ID or copyright claim does not automatically mean that your Audiodrome license is invalid. Automated rights-management systems may identify licensed music when it appears in a published video or other finished Project.

Save the complete notice, locate your purchase and license records, and confirm which Audiodrome track appears in the Project. Audiodrome can review the information and determine the appropriate next step, which may include contacting its rights-management provider or directing you to the relevant platform process.

What a Content ID Claim Means

Content ID is YouTube’s automated system for comparing uploaded videos with audio and video reference files supplied by copyright owners and their representatives. When the system detects a match, a claim may monetize, track, or block the affected video, depending on the policy attached to the reference file.

A Content ID claim usually affects the matched video rather than the uploader’s entire channel. It is different from a copyright removal request and a copyright strike.

Audiodrome uses Identifyy for rights management on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Identifyy is owned and operated by HAAWK, Inc.

Why HAAWK May Appear in the Notice

A claim involving Audiodrome music may display HAAWK or HAAWK for a 3rd Party as the claimant or rights administrator. Identifyy confirms that these names refer to its rights-management activity because HAAWK, Inc. is Identifyy’s parent company.

The wording and layout of a notice may differ by platform and notice type. Submit a screenshot of the complete notice so Audiodrome can confirm the displayed claimant, track, affected content, and action applied by the platform.

The appearance of HAAWK in a notice does not by itself establish that the Buyer used the music outside the Audiodrome license. The purchase, Project, track, platform notice, and applicable licensing documents must be reviewed together.

A Claim Does Not Automatically Invalidate Your License

The Audiodrome License permits qualifying use of purchased music when the track remains embedded in a finished Project and the Buyer follows the agreement. Covered uses may include videos, advertising, monetized content, podcasts, client Projects, applications, streams, and other permitted media.

The agreement also states that Audiodrome does not claim a portion of revenue generated through lawful use of a licensed Digital Asset inside a Project. After receiving reasonable proof of license, Audiodrome will take commercially reasonable steps to release a mistakenly applied claim involving compliant use.

This commitment applies to claims involving Audiodrome music. It does not guarantee a particular platform decision or cover claims involving unrelated footage, another music track, graphics, dialogue, or other third-party material.

Identify the Notice You Received

Before responding, confirm what kind of notice appears in your account.

Content ID or Rights-Management Claim

An automated system has matched part of the Project with registered reference material. On YouTube, the applied policy may monetize, track, or block the video. A Content ID claim does not normally create a copyright strike.

Revenue Claim or Diversion

Advertising revenue may be held, redirected, or managed while a claim remains active. The exact effect depends on the platform, claim policy, location, and dispute status.

Muted or Blocked Content

A platform may mute detected audio or limit access to the Project. YouTube also permits Content ID policies that block matched videos in some or all territories.

Copyright Removal Request or Strike

A copyright removal request is a formal request to remove content. When YouTube accepts a valid removal request, the video is removed and the channel receives a copyright strike. This is different from an ordinary Content ID claim and may require a different response.

Claim Involving Other Material

The notice may concern another music track, footage, an image, dialogue, or other material included in the Project. Audiodrome can only review the portion connected to an Audiodrome track and its licensing records.

What to Do Before Contacting Audiodrome

Do not ignore the notice, but do not submit incomplete or inaccurate information.

Follow these steps:

  1. Save the complete claim notification.
  2. Record the platform where it appeared.
  3. Copy the affected Project URL.
  4. Confirm the Audiodrome track used.
  5. Locate your purchase email and order information.
  6. Locate the digitally signed License Agreement.
  7. Record the claimant name exactly as displayed.
  8. Record the claim reference number and timecode.
  9. Save any email or platform correspondence.
  10. Confirm that the music remains embedded in the finished Project.
  11. Locate the Client-Use License Agreement when the Project was delivered to a client.
  12. Send the complete information to Audiodrome for review.

Do not state that the music is yours, that you composed it, or that you own its copyright. Your permission comes from the Audiodrome License Agreement.

Should You Dispute the Claim Immediately?

A valid license can be a legitimate basis for disputing a YouTube Content ID claim. YouTube states that a dispute may be appropriate when the uploader has the necessary rights to use the claimed content. YouTube also warns users to dispute only when they have a valid reason because a claimant may reject the dispute or submit a removal request.

For this reason, Audiodrome recommends submitting the claim information for review before taking further action when time permits. Audiodrome will examine the purchase, licensed use, claimant, and Project information and advise on the appropriate next step.

Always observe any deadline displayed by the platform. Audiodrome cannot extend a platform deadline.

Submit a Claim Support Request

Provide complete information so Audiodrome can connect the Buyer, purchased track, finished Project, claimant, and applicable licensing documents.

Submit a Content ID Claim Request

Use this form when a Content ID or copyright claim appears to involve music licensed from Audiodrome.

How Audiodrome Reviews a Claim

Audiodrome may review:

  • Whether the track was purchased
  • Whether the purchase information matches the Buyer
  • Whether the notice concerns an Audiodrome track
  • Whether HAAWK or another claimant name appears
  • Whether the music remains embedded in a finished Project
  • Whether the Project appears to fall within the License
  • Whether the client-use process applies
  • Whether the claim concerns unrelated material
  • Which licensing evidence may support the customer’s response
  • Whether contacting Identifyy or using a platform process appears appropriate

This is an operational licensing review. It is not a promise that the platform or claimant will reach a particular conclusion.

What Happens After You Contact Audiodrome

Audiodrome will first review the supplied purchase, license, Project, and claim information.

After that review, Audiodrome may:

  • Ask for missing information
  • Confirm that the notice appears connected to an Audiodrome track
  • Confirm which licensing document applies
  • Explain which part of the License supports the Project use
  • Contact Identifyy or HAAWK when appropriate
  • Advise the Buyer to use the platform’s claim-review or dispute process
  • Explain when the matter appears unrelated to Audiodrome music
  • Explain when the submitted use appears outside the license

Audiodrome has not yet established a published guaranteed response or resolution time. The time required may depend on the completeness of the submission, the platform, the type of notice, and the involvement of the rights-management provider.

What Audiodrome Can Help With

Audiodrome may assist when:

The claimant appears as HAAWK or HAAWK for a 3rd Party
The notice concerns a purchased Audiodrome track
The Buyer can provide purchase evidence
The music remains embedded in a qualifying finished Project
A compliant monetized Project receives a music claim
A client receives a claim on a properly documented finished Project
A platform requests evidence of the music license
A Buyer needs help identifying the relevant licensing documentation

**Audiodrome will take commercially reasonable steps to release a mistakenly applied claim after receiving reasonable proof of compliant use.

When Audiodrome May Be Unable to Help

Audiodrome may be unable to resolve the request when:

The claim concerns another music track Not covered
The claim concerns footage, graphics, dialogue, or unrelated material Not covered
The requester cannot connect the use to an Audiodrome purchase Not covered
The raw track was uploaded as standalone music Not covered
The music was redistributed or supplied as a reusable asset Not covered
The Project falls outside the License Not covered
The client did not follow the required client-use process Not covered
The notice concerns general monetization eligibility rather than an Audiodrome music claim Not covered
The issue concerns an account suspension or unrelated platform enforcement Not covered
The claimant is unrelated to Audiodrome or its rights-management provider Not covered
The customer asks Audiodrome to submit inaccurate information Not covered

Claims Involving Client Projects

The original Buyer should normally coordinate the support request because the Buyer holds the purchase confirmation and main License Agreement.

Ask the client to send the complete notice to the freelancer, agency, editor, or production company that purchased the track. The Buyer can then submit:

  • The main License Agreement
  • Purchase evidence
  • Client-Use License Agreement
  • Client and Project information
  • Published Project URL
  • Complete claim notice

The client receives the finished Project and the permission prepared for that delivery. The client does not receive the raw track or stems as a reusable music file. The Audiodrome agreement requires the music to remain embedded and requires the separate client-use process before delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a Content ID claim mean my license is invalid?

No. A Content ID claim means that an automated system detected a match with registered reference material. The purchase, Project, track, claimant, and license must be reviewed before deciding whether the claim was applied correctly.

What does HAAWK for a 3rd Party mean?

HAAWK for a 3rd Party is a claimant name associated with Identifyy’s rights-management activity. Identifyy is owned and operated by HAAWK, Inc.

Is a Content ID claim the same as a copyright strike?

No. A YouTube Content ID claim usually affects the matched video and does not normally produce a strike. A copyright strike follows a valid copyright removal request that results in content removal.

Should I dispute the claim immediately?

Review the notice and confirm that you hold the necessary rights before disputing it. A valid Audiodrome license may provide a legitimate basis, but Audiodrome recommends submitting the claim information for review when time permits. Always observe platform deadlines.

Can Audiodrome guarantee that the claim will be removed?

No. Audiodrome can review its records and take commercially reasonable support steps for a mistakenly applied claim involving compliant use. The claimant and platform control their review procedures and final decisions.

Can Audiodrome help if the claim concerns another track?

No. Audiodrome can review claims involving music licensed through Audiodrome. Claims involving another track or unrelated Project material must be addressed with the relevant rights holder or platform.

What should I do when my client receives the claim?

Ask the client to save and send the complete notice to the original Buyer. The Buyer should submit the purchase evidence, signed Business License, Client-Use License Agreement, Project URL, and claim information to Audiodrome.

What records should I keep after purchasing music?

Keep the signed License Agreement, purchase email, order information, track title, Project records, publication URLs, client-use documents, and any claim-related correspondence.
